Description
A Sea turtle swimming under the sea in the kelp and coral. Sea turtles oar one of the oldest creatures on Earth. The 7 species that can be found today have been around for 110 million years, since the time of the dinosaurs. The sea turtles shell or "carapace"is streamline for swimming through the water. Unlike other turtles, sea turtles cannot retract their legs and heads into their shells. There color vary between, yellow, greenish and black depending upon the species. Since male and juvenile turtles do not return to shore once they hatch and reach the ocean.
